Activity Reports provide a chronological list of all activity showing full URLs and timestamps. Step through daily web browsing activity and expand sites to view full URLs, categories and actions. Click the Activity Reports button on the Reports tab to get started.
Scheduled Custom Reports
Schedule any report and email it to the right person. Send the Marketing manager an unproductive browsing report for their department every week, or receive an automated daily email of the day’s top threats. Click the clock button on the Reports tab to get started.
Report on exactly what you need with the new filtering interface. Run reports on unacceptable browsing in the marketing department (yeah, we like to pick on the marketing folks!), but don’t include Web Ads or blocked traffic. Click the Filter button on the reports tab to get started.
Drilldown on activity by launching new reports while keeping the existing filters. Create a report filtered by Unproductive browsing, and then drilldown into ‘Allowed’ traffic while keeping your unproductive filter. Hover over the magic green arrow that appears in reports to get started.
TMG Reporter 2.1 generates reports almost twice as fast as version 2.0 and uses less memory.
2.1 also comes with a long list of minor bug fixes and tweaks making the overall experience even smoother.
Import Forefront TMG’s Remote SQL Logs
If you have configured Forefront TMG to log to a remote SQL database (there are some great reasons to do so), you can now import directly from the database. No need for the Fastvue Arbiter! Go to Settings | Sources | Add Source | SQL Server to get started.
Server 2012 and Windows 8
TMG Reporter now automatically installs pre-requisites on Server 2012 and Windows 8. You no longer need to install IIS and .NET 3.5 manually on these operating systems.

Fastvue Reporter is designed for 64 bit Windows Server Operating Systems running Windows Server 2008 R2 or above (will also run on Windows 7, Windows 8 or above, but server OS is perferred). The Web Server and Application Server Roles (.NET 3.5 and IIS) will be automatically installed and configured.
To run TMG Reporter, we recommend a server running the 64bit edition of the following operating systems:
- Windows Server 2012
- Windows 8
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Windows 7
- Windows Server 2003
Although it is possible to install the TMG Reporter on your TMG server, this is not recommended. TMG Reporter installs a web server (IIS) and this may increases the attack surface of your firewall if not properly secured. We allow this option for convenience while testing, but we do not recommend installing TMG Reporter on your TMG server in a production environment
- 4 GB of RAM or more.
- Quad-core CPU or higher.
For a light-load or test server (less than 30 networked machines), the software should run fine with 2GBs of RAM and dual-core CPU.
