AX-S4 ICCP
AX-S4 ICCP (Access for ICCP) provides ICCP-TASE.2 plug-in connectivity for any Windows application supporting the popular OPC Data Access (DA) interface including many off-the-shelf SCADA, HMI and data historian products. The Intercontrol Center Communications Protocol (ICCP) is an international standard (IEC60870-6 TASE.2) for real-time data exchange between utility/ISO/TSO control centers or between control centers and
power plants.
ICCP-TASE.2 is used worldwide to provide exchange of real-time data between control centers, power plants, EMS, SCADA and metering equipment within the electric and gas utility industries. Applications range from generation dispatch in open energy markets, control of aggregated demand response and data exchange in large supra-national transmission systems.
CIM
SISCO follows a disciplined approach that leverages the IEC CIM standard with proven implementation methods to deliver secure and robust application integration solutions. SISCO starts by working with our clients individually to develop the use cases needed to define your requirements based on your business needs.
The use cases identify those elements of the CIM that are needed, which are not needed, and guide the extensions necessary in order to choose or define the right profile that meets your requirements. SISCO works with best in class tools for modeling, documenting, defining messages, and middleware software to help define an optimized and secure integration framework for your system. SISCO then works with your staff or we can provide the resources to implement the overall system and build and/or configure application adapters and web services.
Once the implementation is ready, SISCO can work with you and your suppliers to implement interoperability and security test plans that ensure the implementation was done right and will deliver the services needed for the use cases.
CIM Adapter
SISCO’s CIM Adapter for use with the PI System™ combines the power of OSIsoft’s world-leading infrastructure for real-time performance management with the application integration and common information exchange model capabilities of the IEC CIM.
The SISCO CIM Adapter processes modeling information, such as a network connectivity model, and automatically configures the PI Asset Framework™ (PI AF) for those points that are being historized by the PI Server™. The SISCO CIM Adapter organizes the PI Tags within the context of models familiar to the user such as the IEC Common Information Model (CIM) per IEC 61970/61968 or a user-defined data model. The adapter can also be integrated with SISCO’s Utility Integration Bus (UIB) to synchronize the PI AF models with changes made to the model in external systems.
The SISCO CIM Adapter provides a solution for electric utilities that enables them to leverage their existing
power system models to better manage the complexity of their smart grid systems while minimizing manual
reconfiguration and data handling.
CIMatic Designer
Microgrids are small energy systems capable of balancing supply and demand resources to maintain stable service, local frequency, and voltage regulation in island mode within a defined boundary. The number of installed microgrids is growing in many regions around the world and some of the challenges facing their deployment include interconnection, interoperability, resource planning, system operations,
and technology synergy.
The OSIsoft Microgrid Solution provides a framework for OSIsoft partners and third-party integrators. It also provides a reusable standards based infrastructure that decreases risk and time-to-delivery for control and monitoring of microgrids.
As part of the solution, SISCO provides the model-driven tools and customization services that are based on our CIM and IEC 61850 expertise. The tools include the capability to create and manage the complex microgrid models in PI AF. We supply the consulting and customization services needed to extend the OSIsoft Microgrid Solution to meet your requirements
COMTRADE
The SISCO COMTRADE Utility for the OSIsoft PI System™ allows digital data records from COMTRADE or PQDIF file to be historized into the PI Server™ enabling the PI System™ to be used as a complete disturbance archive for both
the data and the files. The COMTRADE Utility can automatically transfer disturbance files from devices via IEC 61850 or FTP, extract the data from the COMTRADE file, historize the information as an individual PI point for each channel of data and, optionally, store the entire COMTRADE file to a PI Event Frame™ so that the original data can be reproduced for audit trail purposes.
Once the COMTRADE data has been historized, the information becomes available to any of the powerful data presentation and analysis functions available in the OSIsoft PI System™. This enables the detailed event data from the COMTRADE file to be analyzed without being constrained by the COMTRADE file format.
C-RAS
Given the challenges of building new transmission lines, it is critical that utilities maximize the utilization of their existing assets without jeopardizing reliability. Implementing reliable and fast mitigation schemes can enable significant reduction in reserve margins while maintaining or even increasing reliability in some cases.
Traditional distributed remedial action schemes (RAS) that rely on complex device programming that interacts in real-time across multiple substations can be difficult to develop, test, and maintain. This increases the cost and slows more widespread usage of wide area RAS. Centralized RAS can lower the cost by providing a higherlevel development environment with better simulation, testing, and management capabilities. This enables more rapid and widespread implementation of RAS that can save utilities millions of dollars compared to other methods of RAS or adding capacity in existing transmission corridors.
GOOSE Monitor
SISCO’s GOOSE Monitor is an essential troubleshooting tool for substation automation and protection systems that use IEC 61850 GOOSEmessaging. The GOOSE Monitor provides an
intuitive visualization of the state of the GOOSE messaging to identify where problems are occurring, and it enables the substation engineer to focus on those problems directly.
IEC 61850 GOOSE is a high-speed multicast messaging system that is used widely for protection coordination in and between substations.
Operational substations using GOOSE can have thousands of messages per second being exchanged between hundreds of devices. Trying to determine if the protection messaging is working properly using traditional network monitoring tools or network packet sniffers is very difficult.
The GOOSE Monitor captures the publication and subscription status for all the GOOSE messaging and shows it in a real-time display that gives the substation engineer the ability to see at a glance if there are any problems where the source of that problem might be.
